Geography
Name the right kind of place: a country, state capital or constituent nation. Use a map to test the relationship.
01Follow the border
Name a country that shares a border with Switzerland.
1. Hint
Place Switzerland on a map, then work around its borders.
2. Clue
Compare west, south and east. One eastern neighbour is especially small.
3. Examples
- FranceIt borders Switzerland on the western side.
- ItalyIt shares Switzerland’s southern border.
- LiechtensteinIt is one of Switzerland’s five neighbouring countries.
Check: Nearby is not enough: the countries must share a border. Which direction helped you recall another?
Reference: Swiss Federal Office of Topography: national border.
02Separate states from territories
Name the capital city of an Australian state.
1. Hint
Recall a state first, then name its capital city.
2. Clue
Try Tasmania or a western state. Keep states separate from territories.
3. Examples
- HobartIt is the capital of Tasmania.
- AdelaideIt is the capital of South Australia.
- PerthIt is the capital of Western Australia.
Check: Say the state and capital together. Size or fame does not make a city qualify.
Reference: Tourism Australia: states, territories and capital cities.
03Read the political unit
Name one of the four nations that make up the United Kingdom.
1. Hint
Choose a constituent nation, not a city or county.
2. Clue
Three nations are on Great Britain; the fourth is on the island of Ireland.
3. Examples
- ScotlandOne of the UK’s four nations.
- WalesA constituent nation within the UK.
- Northern IrelandIts full name distinguishes it from the sovereign state of Ireland.
Check: A question about sovereign states would require a different kind of answer.
Reference: UK Parliament: the four nations of the United Kingdom.

Movies
Narrow your search by studio, director or release period. Then check the full title and each condition.
01Apply the date boundary
Name a Pixar feature film first released before 2000.
1. Hint
Start with Pixar’s earliest features. The year 2000 is outside the limit.
2. Clue
Think of toys or insects. Check a sequel’s own release year.
3. Examples
- Toy StoryPixar lists its release year as 1995.
- A Bug’s LifePixar lists its release year as 1998.
- Toy Story 2The sequel was released in 1999, so it also fits.
Check: Check both studio and date; animation alone does not qualify a film.
Reference: Pixar: feature films and release years.
02Distinguish release order from story order
Name a film from the original Star Wars trilogy.
1. Hint
Use the first three releases, not the first three episode numbers.
2. Clue
Recall the Death Star, the struggle after its destruction, and the confrontation with the Emperor.
3. Examples
- A New HopeEpisode IV was released in 1977.
- The Empire Strikes BackEpisode V followed in 1980.
- Return of the JediEpisode VI completed the original trilogy in 1983.
Check: Release order defines this trilogy; an earlier fictional setting does not qualify a later film.
Reference: StarWars.com: movies and series viewing guide.
03Check the person’s role
Name a feature film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released before 2000.
1. Hint
Look for a director credit, not simply a Studio Ghibli association.
2. Clue
Try a forest spirit, a young witch or a forest conflict. Check the release year.
3. Examples
- My Neighbor TotoroMiyazaki is credited as director; released in 1988.Film record
- Kiki’s Delivery ServiceMiyazaki directed it; released in 1989.Film record
- Princess MononokeMiyazaki directed this 1997 film.Film record
Check: Writer and producer are different roles. Both the director and release period must fit.

Sports
Recall the exact event or scoring method. Keep the sport and any points condition fixed.
01Use the equipment as a cue
Name a throwing event in track and field athletics.
1. Hint
Picture the object being thrown, then name its event.
2. Clue
Consider a disc, a spear-shaped implement or a ball on a wire.
3. Examples
- Discus throwA World Athletics throwing discipline.
- Javelin throwA throwing event with a run-up and spear-shaped implement.
- Hammer throwThe athletics event, rather than a household hammer.
Check: Name an event, not an athlete. Can another object help you recall a second event?
Reference: World Athletics: disciplines.
02Change the direction of the movement
Name a jumping event in track and field athletics.
1. Hint
Think of athletes travelling upward or outward.
2. Clue
Try a horizontal jump, three phases or a vertical event using equipment.
3. Examples
- Long jumpIt is a horizontal jumping discipline.
- Triple jumpA separate World Athletics jumping event.
- Pole vaultA jumping discipline despite its different name.
Check: A title is a clue, not a definition. Check the event itself.
Reference: World Athletics: disciplines.
03Keep the sport and number fixed
Name a scoring method worth exactly three points in rugby union.
1. Hint
Think of scoring kicks in rugby union, keeping other codes separate.
2. Clue
Compare penalty kicks with open-play kicks. A conversion has a different value.
3. Examples
- Penalty goalWorld Rugby Law 8 gives it a value of three points.
- Dropped goalAlso worth three points under Law 8.
Check: Use the full term: a penalty goal scores points, while “penalty” can describe an infringement.
Reference: World Rugby: Law 8, scoring.

How to use Krillion practice
Choose a subject and answer before opening a reveal. Keep one candidate, then try another region, period or event family. Check every condition before comparing with the examples.
- Hint: a broad direction.
- Clue: a more specific route.
- Examples: supported answers and an explanation.
Each reveal opens independently: a clue does not expose the examples. Use Enter or Space on a focused reveal label to expand or close it. On a phone, tap the label.
Work through this Krillion practice set in any order. Close the reveals before another attempt. The nine prompts are a fixed collection, rather than an endless stream of new questions.
What Krillion practice covers
Geography trains place relationships; movies combine credits and dates; sports require exact events or scoring values. These are original Krillion Trivia exercises, separate from today’s Daily Dive and the official answer bank.
Linked references support the examples. For an unlisted answer, use the reference to check every condition in the prompt. These are starting points, not an exhaustive answer key; absence does not mean incorrect.
Krillion practice awards no points or rarity tiers: the official FAQ describes curated answer collections and question-dependent methods. An exercise result cannot establish official acceptance or scoring.
Review your Krillion practice
Mark an attempt confident, needed help or looked it up. Separate missing knowledge from a fact you knew but could not retrieve.
If you remembered an Australian city but not its state, check that relationship. If you recalled one pair, imagine a map to find another. After Krillion practice, save one lesson: a missed date, a useful category or a better retrieval route. Avoid inventing an official score for a difficult answer.
Try Krillion practice with a friend
Take turns reading a prompt while the examples stay closed. Explain why each candidate fits before checking the source. Compare the reasoning, without deciding which answer is “rarest.”
Revisit the subject where you needed help and look for another supported answer. No account or answer submission is required; your notes stay wherever you keep them. See the privacy policy for optional analytics.
Krillion practice sources and next steps
Example facts were checked October 26, 2026 against the card references: Swiss Federal Office of Topography, Tourism Australia, UK Parliament, Pixar, StarWars.com, Studio Ghibli, World Athletics and World Rugby. These establish example facts, not official game results; the FAQ check supports the curation explanation above.
